What is Botox?

BOTOX® is the most popular wrinkle relaxer worldwide that is safe and proven anti-aging treatment.  It is effective in significantly softening moderate to severe wrinkles, commonly called expression lines, such as Crow’s Feet Lines (around eyes), Frown Lines (between eyes – also known as the Glabellar area), and Forehead Lines, and Smokers Lines.  BOTOX® can also be used to give a Brow Lift effect by improving the position and shape of the eyebrow.  Typical results last four to six months. Once injected, it can last between 3-4 months depending on person’s metabolism.

Can you be over-treated or under-treated for Botox?

Yes – First visit is a Free consultation which will give you an approximation of how much Botox is needed to relax the muscles- this will depend on the type of muscle treated and the individual. We at Rejuva try to be conservative on the initial visit because we know that it is a lot easier to add Botox if needed than to remove Botox if over treated.

Is there a reversal agent for botox?

Collagen is the primary component of our tissues- approximately 80% is found in the Dermis of the skin (just below the epidermis which is your outer skin). Collagen gives us the strength in the tissue and Elastin gives the elasticity or the ability to stretch the tissue. Unfortunately, as we age, we lose the collagen and Elastin which leads to sagging of the skin and volume loss.

There are many ways to stimulate collagen productions:

What are wrinkle relaxers?

Over several years of making facial expressions, wrinkles, lines and folds can begin to develop in the eyes, nose and mouth areas. Wrinkle relaxers such as BOTOX® and Dysport® are non-surgical, minimally-invasive treatments that create long-lasting results with zero downtime.

Wrinkle relaxers are derived from the botulinum toxin and are also referred to as neurotoxins or neuromodulators. Injected directly into the muscles of treated areas, wrinkle relaxers block nerve signals from creating the underlying muscle activity that creates fine lines and wrinkles. This process safely and temporarily relaxes the treated areas of the face.

What is Dysport?

Designed specifically for lines and wrinkles in the forehead and eyebrow areas, Dysport® creates visible results in just two to three days for most patients and lasts for up to four months.

Am I a good candidate for Wrinkle Relaxers?

During your consultation, our medical team will assess several factors such as your health, medical history, cosmetic goals and expectations to determine whether wrinkle relaxers are the best course of treatment for you.

Are there any side effects?

Slight bruising, swelling, redness and itching at injection sites are common and should subside a day or two after treatment. An allergy test may be performed prior to treatment to reduce the risk of adverse reactions.

While wrinkle relaxers are clinically-tested and have proven safety profiles, each type of treatment has its own set of possible risks and complications that will be disclosed to you during your consultation. Results may vary from patient to patient, but with regular treatment, wrinkle relaxers can effectively manage aging skin.
